Brass

Brass is an alloy of copper with zinc ranging from 5 to 40%. In addition, small amounts (less than 5% each) of alloying elements such as tin, aluminum or manganese are added to give the improved properties. Brass industry throughout the world depends on recycling of brass scrap for its survival. Making brass from new copper and zinc would be uneconomical waste of raw materials, which is harmful to environment as well.
